It is insane how fast time flies – Luca is turning 2 today, and it feels just like yesterday that I held him in my arms as a new-born. I’m full of emotions thinking that he’s not a baby anymore, but actually a toddler. How strange it is for a mother to want her child to stay the same and yet grow up with the same ferocity!

The last few weeks I have been plotting on how to treat my little boy for his second birthday. Last year he was still too small to realize what was going on, and even though I still don’t think he understand the concept of birthdays I think he will be able to enjoy a birthday party. So this year I will separate the fun into two days: one for the family and one for kids with tons of fun and little friends.

I just know he’ll be super excited to unpack all those car-toys, stuffed animals and maybe even his first bike. I will hide all his presents and balloons in his bathroom so he can unwrap everything first thing in the morning. I bet he will be all dreamy and cute buried under layers of wrapping paper and toys.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have a special outfit for him under consideration, of course. If you enjoy children’s outfits I have a treat for you: two outfits, one for each birthday event, a big Thank You to Dsquared, Il Gufo and Billybandits for gifting Luca and me with these beautiful birthday outfits which I will be happily featuring after the kid’s party.

After looking through his baby-pics I think I will also share a throw-back selection of his first birthday. It is crazy how fast time flies, and how my love for him grows with each passing day.

Happy birthday, Little Big Boy.
