Two years of research on interior design, playing around with furniture and colors will get you to find not only your own decoration style, but allow you to match it to your child’s personality. Ok, I guess you could say that a few-weeks-old Matteo hasn’t had the opportunity to share much of his personality, yet. But I kid you not when I say that they were both very different from day one, introducing their own unique little personhood. And I like to reflect this in the way their rooms are put together.

My goal was to create a fusion of beauty, practicality and fun for the boys. Everything has to look great while not falling apart if the boys decide to jump on it. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done, and I did have to compromise on one or the other thing, but I am very pleased to share with you the rooms as they are today!

Luca’s room is playfully Italian with a touch of Scandinavia here and there, while Matteo’s furniture lean more towards a dreamy French style. His room’s pallet goes from mint to colors of grey with the hand painted silk animal wallpaper being the crowning jewel.

So far the boys are inseparable: Luca is madly in love with his baby brother and never misses a chance to show it. I was quite worried how he would take the arrival of a new family member and am ecstatic that they get along so well.
