Now we are finally experiencing what mothers have told me would come, but OH MY, I had no idea it would be this exhilarating and exhausting! – Luca has taken his first steps, and is at his most energetic ever.

Luca is so full of curiosity and drive to conquer the house that we can barely get him to eat a quick meal before his exploration adventures carry on. He jumps from driving all his big and little cars around (Tiffany, our French bulldog hasn’t yet decided whether to be happy or scared about that), to reading his books, to playing ball, to go for a quick dip in the pool and play with the water toys…

and we’re talking about 15 minutes here…

I am a bit speechless and I confess that I do get bleary eyed every once in a while when I watch how Luca’s personality is slowly unravelling into that unique little person he is going to be. His attention is now more towards the educational toys and learning than before, and it is always clear what he likes, and what he doesn’t. Memos, building structures with colourful wooden blocks, memory games… he gets fascinated, and I can almost see that little brain soaking up information.

My husband and I were delighted to see that Luca loves music and the little toy piano, and while I try not to picture my baby as a world famous pianist (A mom can dream, no?!), the hours we spend as a family with music are heart-warming. My husband has his own little dream, I can see his eyes flashing when he sees Luca zipping around in his little Ferrari Bobby car. At least I know they will share a passion…These days I am slowly starting to change his room from an infant room to a little boys room, and while I will miss him being a baby, we are both ready for this new little adventure in his life. 15 months going on 16 is a whole new phase, and I know he’s going to keep me on my toes… time is flying and we need to make sure to enjoy every day as the precious moment it is!

Have a lovely weekend!
