Some days its just easy to be grateful for what I have. I’m grateful to have my darling Luca, my wonderful husband, my mother who is always there and helping me balance work and family life, and then there are my dear friends…
Right from the start I would like to thank my best friend for throwing a surprise Baby shower for me, and all my lovely female friends from Germany who helped her, even though it’s not a German tradition. I am touched, and needless to say, my heart is overflowing.
So, my best friend conspired against (or should I say for) me in the last few weeks, gathering my Munich Ladies together to celebrate the coming of my second child. They decorated the play area of my house in vintage baby blue, with flowers from my favourite Flower shop, (Flor & Décor flowers and more) Hortensia and Delphiniums galore. Bunches and bunches of light blue balloons, pastel sweets and blue cupcakes everywhere. As the afternoon started at four, the theme was tea time, so we had English sandwiches, petite four and blue cupcakes. My girlfriend even greeted our friends with blue champagne much to the delight of some and the worry of others. The highlight was a two story blue cake from Käfer that was almost too beautiful to cut. We did though, thank God, because it was de-li-cios.
All the guests came wearing some kind of baby blue, and I was able to put on my blue Fendi jumpsuit with red details that went perfectly with my favourite red (Aquazzura) shoes. The beautiful thing about the jumpsuit is that I can wear it after the baby bump is gone, I can totally see this becoming one of my summer favourites.
But the best part of day was having all these special people take their time and come share my joy with me. This is really the kind of life I am happy to send another child into, and this makes me very grateful.
All my love to you, dear reader, until the next post. XOXO
